one for One

With every pair purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.

And thanks to our amazing customers, as of September 2010, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children in need around the world.

Shoe giving trips

TOMS Giving Trips are a unique and exciting experience at TOMS. TOMS Giving Partners work hard year-round to distribute shoes as part of their community development programs. Giving Trips provide our staff and contest winners the chance to visit TOMS Shoe Giving Partners and help them give new shoes to children in need.

Through a Giving Trip, participants experience how powerful it can be to hand-place shoes on children’s feet and gain an understanding of how TOMS Shoes are integrated into our Giving Partners’ larger development programs and goals. Immersed in a vibrant new culture, TOMS Giving Trip participants spend time with the amazing people that work in impoverished communities daily and gain a deeper perspective on community development. Participants get to see first-hand how TOMS Shoes support children’s health and education.

TOMS Giving Trips are way more than just a trip. It is a time of learning, contributing and experiencing the TOMS movement in action. TOMS team member Sevag shared after his trip,

In Honduras, we met children who had never owned a pair of their own shoes before… I was instantly struck by the impact a pair of new shoes can bring … I was really inspired to see how [TOMS Giving Partner] Hogar de Niños [Enmanuel] explained to the children that the shoes would allow them to attend school safely and that they should work hard toward continuing their education, be proud of who they are and of their culture, and that they should do as much as they can to help their fellow citizens and community. Because of the way that Hogar de Niños gives TOMS Shoes, the shoes become much more than just a pair of shoes; they represent a doorway into a new future with more opportunities.
